Adult Digital Camera Training Workshop

Learn to use your digital camera to its fullest potential. Learn how to take pictures with the proper lighting, focus and composition. You will have one week between sessions to do assignment. Bring results to the second part of this interesting workshop.
Bring your digital camera and five or six photos for critique.

Senior Exercise Program 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM (Seniors Only)
Creative Movement and Dance Staff $40/$45 SL
Using the Lebed Method, this fun exercise program is specially designed to allow seniors to experience total body movement, increase range of motion and flexibility & decrease pain and stiffness. Please wear comfortable clothes and join us. No coordination is needed.

Learn art basics with Herb Lambert, professional artist. If you want to paint, Herb will show you how to use acrylics and watercolors. If drawing is your interest, Herb will show you how to work with pencils and pastels. Or, try each one in this fun class.
Children’s Theater 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM (Ages 5 -11)

We will learn drama exercises, aspects of theater and how to project our voices. We will learn stage direction and scenery. We will also learn about costumes, makeup and best of all, how to put on a play. At the end of each period, we will have a performance starring ourselves.
Multi Media Art 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM (Ages 7- 11)

Learn about art and its many ways to be expressive. We will learn about paint, pencil, charcoal and pastels in this interesting class. We will learn the basics of composition, perspective and shading. We will use this information to create wonderful works of art.

Drama and Theater 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM (Ages 6-11)

This is for the beginning drama student who is willing to be in a play at the end of the session. We will help the shy student and encourage the others to take on fun and exciting drama characters. Fantasy, fairy tale, feel good plays will be used for this age group. Simple choreography will be taught. Stage terms, memorization and character building will be part of the class. Drama games and puppets will be used for added fun.
Anime and Cartooning 4:00PM - 5:00PM (Ages 7-11)

This class will teach you how to understand body language, the figure in motion and basic fundamentals of drawing. We will create an original character design.
Sculpting with Sculpey 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Ages 10–17)

We will learn to understand volume and be able to convert a line drawing into sculpture. We will learn to create a sculpture with accuracy and realism. We will learn to use photographic reference. Sculpey is a readily available material and is cured in a household oven. We will also paint our creations to complete our projects. Bring your cameras.
Drama and Theater—Advanced 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM (Ages 13-16)

We will practice and direct our own play at the end of 6 weeks with full costumes. Students will learn to improve their verbal skills and acting abilities. We will learn the following: Improvisation, Pantomime, Stage movement and voice, Scene building. Each student will have a part to memorize for end of session play.
Simple Machines Explorations 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Ages 6-12)

Simple Machines Explorations is a beginner level mechanical engineering and design class. Concepts are taught through hands-on experimentation with LEGO models. Forces and Structures, Inclined Planes, Levers, Wheels & Axles, Gears, Pulleys and Compound Gears. Learning the mechanical advantage of each type of machine. Introduction to motorization. Simple graphing and data collection exercises.

Robotics I 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Ages 10+)
Y.E.S. Staff 2 six week sessions to complete projects $240/$260 (payment can be split.)
This class integrates practical applications of computer science, math, fundamental physics, engineering, and writing into a rich and challenging course. The curriculum includes materials designed by the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy and NASA Robotics Educator Program designed to foster mathematical and engineering competency as well as technological and scientific literacy. We will utilize the LEGO MINDSTORMS products for this class. This is a 12 week class. Students must enroll in 2, six week sessions.
Beginning Ballroom Dancing 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Adults)
Creative Movement and Dance staff Couples: $100/$120; Individuals: $50/$60
Participants will be introduced to the basic fundamentals of various popular Ballroom and Latin dance styles including Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha and more. No partner is necessary.
