We are celebrating the Arts……and you are invited to join us! Artists and Arts patrons alike will find
something of interest and inspiration.  The arts are alive at the Cherokee Arts Center!

The Cherokee Arts Center was originally the Canton Methodist Chruch.  The building is on
the National Historic Registry as well as the GA Historic Registry.  It has been home for the
Arts Center for the past 12 years.  During that time, it has become the community arts
center for Cherokee County.  The Cherokee Arts Center offers a wide array of activities
for adults and children.  The most popular children's activity is Camp Imagine, a full day arts
camp that runs all summer and during school breaks.  Almost 300 children participated in
Camp Imagine this past year, including 68 scholarship campers.  The Arts Center hosts
9 exhibits annually that celebrate local and regioanl fine artists and craftsmen as well as
a special showcase of Cherokee County School students.  The Cherokee Arts Center also
presents professional theatre and concerts as part of the Performing Arts Series, hosts
local bluegrass bands each first Saturday of the month and sponsors several special events
including the Mardi Gras Ball and the Festival of the Arts.
